Tools for governments that serve their people.
See our previous workOur mission
We all have a stake in the society we live in. So those with the skills to solve public problems should help governments solve them. Our job is to give governments the tools they need to serve their people.
We prove what works through proofs of concept, showcases and workshops. We bring the right partners into the room. We are the architects of that collaboration. We earn our profit by delivering the results the public can see.
We work with governments that answer to their people.
Progress so far
Since 1 October 2026
Thu 1 Oct
We defined our mission.
- Our job is to give governments the tools they need to serve their people.
- We prove what works through proofs of concept, showcases and workshops.
Fri 2 Oct
We defined a core societal problem.
Disconnected household records
- Services hold records on the same households in systems that cannot easily exchange data.
- Residents can get missed, and money for prevention goes on crisis relief.
Tue 6 Oct
We started to build a data backbone for councils and their partners.
The connector: it links the records services already hold.
- It is designed so that each council keeps its own data.
- New tools plug into it, with no change to its core.
- The connector is a prototype today. Read how it works.
Sat 10 Oct
Free for anyone to use.
Our first tools on the backbone.
- The private rented homes check: leads to check in every ward of Southwark and Enfield.
- London referrals: every quarter, for all 33 London councils.
- Anyone can reuse the downloads, with a credit.
Previous work
Before Mithril, we built data products inside these organisations.
